    Midway disabled "Notify Me" button

Just logged onto Midway and noticed they disabled the "Notify Me" button for "high demand" items like primers and powders. Not that the notifications ever helped me out anyways.

Good! Maybe those of us who aren't in front of the computer all day long will finally get a chance to get stuff.

If you already had signed up for the notifications you'll still get them, you just can't add more. (On items that they deem to be in "high demand" read:everything)
Everything I say is probably wrong.

Honestly for items like primers and powder, I do not see the point in the notify feature.

They have so little stock coming in and so many people wanting it and as a result they are sending out tons of those notify emails. It is a waste of resources.

It also does possibly give people a chance to buy stuff that are not monitoring their email/Midway for stock changes 24 x 7.

I think you got it backwards. The people who are monitoring Midway will now get get first dibs on everything. Those of us who work for a living won't find out until we log on at 10PM, long after the goodies are gone.

Yup, pretty much scratch them for bullets (what i've used them for). Plenty of people will be monitoring it all day. leaving multiple screens up and refreshing constantly. Those who relied on notifications are going to be SOOL.
I imagine their servers were getting slowed down by the bizillions of notifications, probably affecting operations internally. And why invest in capital improvements for a panic.
Hopefully they'll bring them back after they cull the number down.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

If I was going to be "fair", I'd do "backorders/notifications" with limited quantities in the order received. Notify those at the plate and on deck to respond within 24 hours. After 24 hours it goes to next in line.

some people have written scripts to noticy or even auto purchase soon as its in stock. They benefit the most.

Just had two notifications come in this morning. OOS as soon as I click the link as usual.

                        +10,000,000 this...

Every time I logged in after a notification all I could do is renew the notification because the product was already OOS and long gone by the time I got on.

Well I tried it for the first time just this past weekend. The notification came today, and the bullets were still there when I got there this afternoon (after work). But my needs are simple and I only bought one box, and .35 caliber rifle bullets are not in high demand anyway. Nothing like .223, .30 and the various handgun bullets. Maybe this is one minor time when enjoying the oddball calibers is to my benefit. Anyway, I put in more ticklers for 2 different powders, so we'll see.

I don't get a chance to monitor Midway all day long so the notifications are nice. I did get 5k SPP today and 5k LPP the other day via notification. I've discovered that certain email types via the iPhone only support Push updates. The Fetch option you can only set at 15 minutes intervals which will cause you to miss out. You want Push so I've switched all my notifications to my @me.com email address. Just a little helper for you guys.
