Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but i've got a photo from my recent range trip. The bottom 2 are reloads with issues. Light primer strike, then over penetration. Then there is a reload that went well and finally some underwood factory ammo as a control. out of the 50 rounds I shot, 5 light strikes that would never go boom, 5 that went off after trying them again. As far as the ones where there the striker went into the primer, but not all the way through would be 10. and then 30 that went bang and looked normal.

The gun: glock 29 with stock recoil spring, increased strength striker ( I went up to 6.5 lbs over the stock 5.5 when I heard the primers were stiff) and a lone wolf barrel.

The loads: 11.4 grains of long shot with a 135 grain fmj. The casings were not bulging or any other damage that a few of the primers seen below

The loading equipment: Lee hand press, Lee Ram Prime, RCBS dies, Lee Shell holders, Lymman pocket cleaning tools.

Again, I'm sure it is the Indian and not the arrow and any help would be great

As far as pressures, you were 1.8gr below what McNett recorded as a max load (13.2gr = 1542fps out of a G20 barrel) back in 2003, so you had plenty of headroom.

My take is the problem is a seating issue, the primers that are not firing are not seated fully, hence the FTF. I think I would just move to some other primers that may be a little easier to get seated with your equipment. Winchester and Federal both are usually pretty easy to get seated.

Interesting headstamps. It has been a while since I bought some Underwood, all the UW I have bought in the past had Starline headstamps.

I would also go back to the stock striker spring, plenty for anything including magnum rifle (I think).

Primers are pretty hard to get these days, maybe offer someone in the Ammo and Reloading marketplace that lives near you a ratio trade (more of your primers for somewhat less of the Federal or Winchester.

those lee hand priming tools are junk they wear out fast... try the rcbs they seem to be made better
