    was given 200 primers today!

Just wanted to say I've been learning about reloading for a few months now. Haven't loaded a round yet.

I've been talking to an old timer at work for the past couple weeks about reloading. Great guy, great stories. Whom also reloads. I told him the stage that I was at, and at this point Im ready for primer and powder(after understanding the bell and correct seating of the lead. In any event I told him I've been looking for primers for the past few weeks, and haven't had much luck.

The next day he came to work, handed me 200 LP primers.

Just wanted to say he's a great guy, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was on this forum. As Im sure a lot of you would most likely do the same thing?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

experiences like this occasionally give me hope for the human race. you just never know how cool people you meet can be until something happens. i'm glad you had a good experience and wish you the best in your reloading endeavors. i'd also like to thank the guy who gave you the primers for helping you stay involved and not lose interest. good stuff!

        agreed
It's ok to be jealous. We understand your animosity. We live the life you wish you had. And of over 4000 universities and over 1700 division 1 schools, only one is simply known as "The U"

he wouldn't let me buy him lunch. So i'll give him 100 rounds, down the line, when its all shootin straight.

I seriously doubt the guy wants your reloads or expects anything in return… he gave you primers for a reason.

Obviously it isn’t about the money, but I would find a way to show your appreciation.

Probably not, but it kinda makes you wonder. Maybe he's the one buying all the primers that you can't seem to find.

                Good luck with your reloads!

he probably will if he's down to his last components and needs them for a match or something.

But thats a nice gesture from your co-worker.

Good guy. I was given a brand new factory mag for my xd40 today by a customer so was a similar experience. He bought it for his xdm40 and found it wouldn't fit, rather than returning it he gave it to me. There still are nice people out there apparently.

few years ago my company was repiping a house. i was out on a service call and my boss called to tell me the guy had "a bunch of old rifles" so i should hurry up and get there. i thought yeah right they just want me to bail 'em out. turns out the guy was a swiss rifle collector and had a sh** ton of schmidt rubins, couple vetterlis, etc. really nice guy and showed me "some" of his collection. i had recently purchased a k31 and he asked if i'd shot gp11 ammo, was i reloading for it, etc. he then gave me a ziploc with a tin of waffenfett(weapon grease), 20rds of gp11 7.5x55 ammo, and 40rds of 7.5swiss brass. i was dumbfounded and then at the end of the job, while testing everything, i noticed one of his sinks was draining slowly so i just went and got my snake and cleared it right out. he then proceeded to give me a pound of powder. we ended up BSing for about a half hour after the rest of the crew, and my boss, left. just a super-nice guy and a wealth of information as well. i was just getting started reloading at the time and the advice and components he supplied me with will not be forgotten. should he call for service again at some point i will do it for free. well worth it not only for the stuff received, but for the gesture. it really is heartening to meet genuinely good people, mostly because they seem so few and far between these days.

That is really cool for someone to do that. It does make you feel there is some good left in this world.
