I have some LC 2010 manufacture XM193 brass that is not NATO spec. I am wondering if this is normal? I went to use my RCBS primer pocket swager die, but the case mouths were too small to fit the die after resizing with small base die. I looked at the primer pocket and said, heck with it, one primer won't hurt to have hands on knowledge. So I used my RCBS hand priming tool and inserted a CCI #400 Small Rifle Primer into the pocket. Went in smooth, depth is good and it doesn't fall out. I loaded up some with Varget powder and 55gr Vmax bullets. Were alot softer shooting than the XM193 55gr ball.
I guess I rambled into my story a bit, but my question is does anyone have similar results with priming without swaging using the 5.56 55gr ball XM193 brass? I suppose a quick look at the brass and not seeing the NATO cross would've given it away, but it's XM193 and I was under the impression that it's NATO spec 5.56 ammunition.
