    7.62X39 Short Range Ammo

Any one use this ammo in a AK? My father-in-law wants to order a crate for plinking at Angeles Shooting Range. The price is right but will it cycle a AK and SKS? and does the projectile attract a magnet?

    Any input would help, Thanks.

AFAIK It WILL NOT cycle your action. I have similar 9x19 training ammo and it won't cycle the gun. Maybe if I took the locking link out lol....

        Good luck.

well its a bit pointless if it wont cycle the action, who the hell would buy it, more important why would they make such a cartridge? what use could the military have for it if it wont cycle a ak or sks.

hey guys, i got a response back from ammoman.com here it is

It cycles most of the time.
Depends on the spring of the gun.
            It does attract a magnet.
            Thanks for your interest.

If it would consistently cycle an AK or SKS I think it would be sweet to have....

I bet it would penetrate real well in CQB (if you wanted that... like military type situations where you dont care about over pen)

Sounds like neat ammo, I wonder if it lets your sights stay matched up for the 123gr stuff?

Maybe to train the soldiers to perform a jam-clearing maneuver?

it works fine in my ak, but jambs feeding into my sks.
                      good stuff for the price.
