Anyone reload for .30-30?

I got some Hornady Interlock 150 gr. RN http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=382697 for my Pre-'64 Win. 94. I seated the bullets as deep as I could reasonably seat them and they absolutely will not cycle. Does anyone else have a bullet that they use with success? This is really disappointing because I was really enjoying shooting that little rifle and was looking forward to making some good accurate loads. It currently shoots about 3" at 100 yds, which isnt bad, but I just like as tight a group as I can get.

any input will be greatly appreciated.

this is what I use. performs flawlessly. I seat the bullet to the candelure and give it a good crimp. I notice if I dont crimp it good enough it deosnt feed right

I reload .30-30 for my Marlin 336 XLR lever gun, and wouldn't put anything in that tube magazine but flat nose rounds and the new Hornady polymer tip LEVERevolution rounds (not yet available for reloading, last I checked). The round nose bullets may be just as safe, but I'm not willing to risk a chain fire in the mag.

Am I being overly cautious?

I also use the Speer 150gr FN Hot cores they have no problems in my Pre '64 Win. 94 and gives decent accuracy. Does it feed other ammo? If not could be a bad carrier spring.

I shoot 200 gr. Round Nose out of my Marlin 336 in .35 Remington. I've never had a problem and it's what I understand to be the standard round for that gun.

I have reloaded all kinds of bullets for my 30-30 including the ones the OP listed. Never a problem. If there was a problem. it was usually due to the cases needing to be full sized instead of neck sized.

That's probably the problem, I only neck sized them.
