Experience with Hornady Super Performance Powder?

Was curious if anyone had experience with Hodgdon Hornady Super Performance Rifle Powder? Frankly, I had never heard of it, and when I was out and about today I ran into a store that had shelves of it.

I ended up buying 4 pounds of it and was wondering if it was anything special that I should go back and get more?

Thoughts? Secret formulas?

In the Hornady Reload book, that powder is real close to Accurate 4350 powder, which is is good for heavy bullets because of slower burning rate.

I have read it only has benefits for a couple specific small caliber's.

Supposed to be good in my .243. Should work well where 4350, W760/H414 are called for. Hodgdon shows some fast loads with 30-06.

I would hardly call $26 per pound a panic buy... more of a curiousity buy. The fact that there were 30-40 pounds on the shelf really doesn't indicate panic.

I've really liked Hornady's LeverEvolution powder, so why not play with this?

Ive seen the Superformance powder before... I wanted to try it but I didn't see any load data for it on the Hodgdons website for .223 or .308 so I passed on it.

Looks like its more tailored for velocity rounds like the 22-250

I have been using it in my 30-30 with the Hornady 160g FTX pills and it is great!

This combo comes complete with the Ferrum stamp of approval.
