Once fired, 2x, 3x....is it worth keeping up

For pistol loads, is it worth the effort keeping up with the total cycles on brass?

Do you keep yours segregated by total number of times reloaded and fired?

No segregation here, I treat them all the same

Shoot them until they won't hold a primer or split, or until you get tired of picking them up. Pistol brass isn't getting worked as hard as rifle brass.

I don't count my handgun case cycles.

For my auto loading handguns, I usually lose it before it goes bad. The one exception to this are my 10mm. I only load new Starline for my maximum loads, then they go into a bucket for subsquent non-maximum loads, where again, I usually lose it before it breaks. For my revolver loads, I just inspect the brass before loading. My full house 44RM cases don't last a long time, usually with a mid-case split signifying their end.

Rifle cases I start with new and count cycles. I anneal at least every fifth cycle.

I run my rifle brass in batches of 100, first time I have problems .I anneal the neck and keep going, any visible problems with any other part scrap yard.

I never cared for pistol cases. I did separate the rifle cartridge cases based on make and how many times I fired it.

This.... I used to separate by headstamp and keep track of how many times loaded. Now I just inspect them after tumbling.

I usually wind up with a certain amount of "incidental bycatch" with my brass. I do sort by headstamp but don't keep track of how many times loaded. Except for 500 pieces of new Starline .357 I bought all my brass used anyway.
