    LNL AP owners help please

New loader advances and indexes perfectly with no shells present. When cases are in the shell plate does not advance perfectly anymore, about 15% of the time it stops just short of where it should be and th BBs engage. I am about to adjust it per the manual but thought i would try and get some experienced opinions first. thanks in advance

Do you have primers loaded in the primer tube? If so, are the primers fully seated when the short of index event occurs?

Does it stop short on the ram upstroke or the ram downstroke?

When it stops short, is there any noticeable drag when operating the handle?

Is the shellplate bolt firmly finger tight?

Did you lube the shellplate and ball detents on the bottom? Lube the ram and other moving parts with grease or whatever?

Are all the fingers on the plate advancing cog at the bottom of the ram all the same size? Any funny wear marks on it?

      Are you short stroking?

Is there any cam over at the top of the ram movement (where the ram goes back down a fraction while the handle is still moving down)?

Doesn't sound like your problem, but is the primer coming all the way out of the shell after sizing? You will have to take off the shell plate to free up the shell to be removed, or backup the plate and try again at decappping to get the primer to fall out of the brass and free the plate to be advanced. I sometimes have this problem with a new caliber setup.
