Sometimes the inertia bullet puller is just the right tool. I used to load up my bullet and then squat down on the garage floor for a a few hits on the concrete. Once or twice not a big deal, but more than 5 (e.g., someone else's reloads, a big batch mistake, bullet too big for the collet puller, etc.) and doing squats all night has you feeling it the next morning.
Didn't want to smack my bench (beat up the wood as well as drive the digital scale bonkers), so I came up with this idea. Scrap pieces of steel, painted with truck bed liner and put it on my bench. Now I use the inertia puller standing and hitting the 35lb steel stump isolates all the impact. Has worked out great for me and no more squats!
