Hornady dies in Dillon 650

Looking to get Hornady 308 dies and am wondering how they work in a Dillon 650. Have only used Dillon dies so I'd appreciate it if you all gave me the low down. Thanks!

I hav one tool head set up with 45 Hornady dies. Works fine. Never set up for 308 but should be ok.

Do they still set up in the same order on the toolhead as dillon dies?

They work great, except for the fact that the decapping stem on the Hornady sizer is about 37 feet long and can interfere with the powder bar. I cut it off in the lathe to make it a reasonable length.

Station 1 should always be decap/sizing

Station 2 is always primer & powder

After that it is up to you, although it is probably best to keep to the order of powder check, seating and crimp. I say best as it is probably best to have a consistent approach.

I prefer Dillon dies on the dillon. Just seem to work out better for me. I use other dies on my single stage presses. There is always a need for some single stage work with the stuff I load on the dillon so I have both.
