    Confused by Your Question

Are you asking specifically about rifle and carbine loads? This Spreadsheet in row 1024 will advise what books have rifle loads. Look across the columns and find the "R"s. Look like the current Hornady, Lyman, Serria, and Speer manuals all have a specific rifle loadings.

Or handgun loads for hunting, Cowboy Action Shooting, Heavy Ruger or T/C, Cast or Jacketed?

Lots of loads out there. You can start looking at Hodgdon, Alliant, VV, Ramshot, Accurate, etc.

Do you have any supplies now to use? With all the component shortages, we could give you loads that you can't find the parts for. More info would be helpful to help you.

I have had great perfomance using Unique, Winchester (WLP) large pistol primers, and 200/230/250/255 gr cast lead bullets. Truth be told it is not much more expensive to reload the 45 Colt than the 38 Special. If your gun can handle them look at Sierra's 300gr JSP over 2400 or H110.

The gun used is a Winchester lever action shrub gun and is going to be used for short range boar hunting. Does anyone know whats used in the factory rounds?

I have read but have not seen that the Winchester 45 long guns have chambers that run large that can be an issue to reloaders. I reload for a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt and several of my manuals discourage using the Ruger only loads in lever guns. I would not use Corban 45Colt +P loads in a lever gun either.

Stick to 30kpsi and you should be fine. 24 gr of H110 under a 260gr or 22 gr under a 300 gr. I use Speer in the hot rods.

Get a reloading book if you don't have one. Check out Hogdon's web site for data on pretty much every cartridge, as well as Accurate and Alliant.

I shoot a cast 270 SAA hollow point in 45lc and 460 mag for target shooting. It packs a punch on steel plates or pieces of wood. I have heard a number of hunters say they like heavy cast boolits at slow to medium velocities.

Haven't loaded 45 colt for hunting but I would imagine a larger (255gr) RNFP would do nicely over some Titegroup, Win231, Unique etc

I've been using W231 and TrailBoss powders with a 250gr RNFP in my
45LC lever rifle with good success. I've only gone with the starting loads
to see what they do on paper. So far so good. -g

I have a revolver and don't crimp, but do you need to crimp for a lever action?

I shoot paper, cans, 2x4's... so my loads are similiar to G-Man's.

It's a good idea with a tubular magazine.

Personally, I crimp revolver rounds. Good bullet pull an come into play with the slower powders.

Slower burning powders will maximize the velocity gain via the longer rifle/carbine barrel.

FWIW I'm using Blu Dot in my 15 kpsi 255gr loads. I think it's 12-12.5 gr. Still working on a 200 gr. popgun load with faster powders (HP38, Unique and 800X). H110 for the +P loads.
