I am looking to finally get into reloading. I live in San Diego and was curious if anyone has some answers to my questions. Does anyone have any good suggestions for where to buy my reloading equipment? What would be a good set up for a beginner? Does anyone have a good place to buy bullets & primers as I see they are hard to come by now a days? Are there any local San Diego reloading clubs or groups? Any info you guys can give me is much appreciated.

Before you do anything more buy the Lyman #49 Reloading manual and read it. It will answer most questions and has good load data.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

There are a few of us in the San Diego area that would be more than happy to help you get started, but we need a little more information first. What will you be reloading for and how much do you shoot? You can't go wrong with a good single stage, as there will always be a use for one. A good reloading manual will give you an idea of where to start. This is a tough time to get started in reloading, but with a little bit of patience, it can be done.I am looking to finally get into reloading. Bring me some good local beer, and I'll let you reload a few rounds of 9mm, or40, or .45 to get your feet wet. Look over my set-up, and see what it takes. I just use a Lee pro 1000 and have had pretty good results so far.
Then we'll take the reloads you made over to Iron Sights to shoot them and see if they actually work.

La Mesa collectibles in Santee. Not the cheapest but has the equipment to start. I think the guy has reloading classes for $50."By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' 'the security of the nation,' and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy... The Second Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."Comment

It's actually in El Cajon off of Bradley and No Magnolia and the cost is now $75. Next class I think is 4/20? Call and check. There has been good feedback in this Forum regarding this class.Comment
