Hand Reaming with RCBS de-burring tool .

6.5 hours into hand reaming some LC 5.56 .
I'm 400 rounds into a VERY VERY big pile of life-less metal . Spending about 5-10 seconds with a back and forth wrist twist motion aprox. 180 degrees . ( blow , eye-ball & repeat )

Le Sigh , the quality of the new Primer Pocket is phenomenal , yet it's a pain in the *** .( I know I only have only to do it once , but a dillon - "super swagger" is looking mighty inviting. ) Given the time I have and the quantity I have to do........
It's supposed to be a marathon not a sprint .
    ** arms are dead lol**

SOoooo If an anonymous person wants to
sell his/her old dillon super swagger in the San Diego region ...
    :+:+:+: Please PM :+:+:+:

I know there are many ways to skin this cat but beyond the DSS or hand reaming each case( no screwdrivers!)I know no other way to keep very accurate and consistent looking , quality primer pockets on my 5.56 LC (insert all years) brass.

I know what you mean. I'm looking towards the hornaday prep center. Expensive but might be worth it

I saw that . Looked like the back of a porcupine but instead of quills a useful array of moving tools to make this easier ! How much do those run these days ?

Reviews are iffy on Midway for the hornady ( More research may be in order ) . I saw some machine that was like - vibration tumbler sized . With the tools on top might of been green .Not sure where , perhaps a Youtube video . The guy in the video seemed to like it .

Just use a countersink bit in a slow turning cordless tool. I use an electric screwdriver with a 3 jaw chuck that snaps into the hex driver. Turns about 200 RPM, it will produce two 3/8" long chips and I'm done with that one. If you just produce the two chips, and don't try to drill to China, you get a very nice chamfer.

The Lyman tool center looked pretty good for the $100 they were asking 6 months ago. Unbelievably, they actually included ALL the tool bits WITH the machine. Those of you that have been reloading for a while will recognize how completely unique it is, that you don't have to peruse the catalog and order another 10 parts....

I own the Lyman deburring tool, my hand feels like its going to fall off after.

I typically only use it on military brass, but the super swage w/ some mods does sound good.

NEVER use a counter sink bit! I am seeing people now that don't know what they are doing and take away too much brass! People are getting this idea and ruining thousands of pieces of brass!

Please just spend the money on a quality tool... You guys ruining brass are killing me!

You just have to knock off the sharp edge so the primer self feeds.

I have the super swage, it works excelent as long as You sort your brass by stamp, especially with .308 and .30-06.

Thanks for all the responses. Have done some digging on the diff. Products diff. Reload companies offer . The hand cleaning and dillon have produced the results im personally looking for. The rcbs press adapter is my next choice behind my hand gig, and the dillon.

That's the "digging to China" I mentioned. When you understand that by definition, HALF of the population HAS TO BE BELOW AVERAGE in mechanical ability/sensitivity, you get China digging. All it needs is a slight chamfer around the primer pocket to remove the crimped portion.

Mr. Dillion's genius was to make equipment for the below average people in mechanical ability/sensitivity. Not all Dillion owners obviously, but at least the majority from what I've seen on reloading forums. 650 and 1050 owners have it more together than the 550 people. Those machines being true progressives, take a lot more ability to use. 550 is a single stage with a shell plate instead of a single shell holder, a modified turret press that does 4 functions at one time. Lots easier to set up and use... .
