    Lead free recommendations

    Hello,

I have just started reloading for 300 Blackout.
I found some Barnes all copper bullets to reload, but I was wondering about any others. That could be used in led free zones.

Any favorites or recommendations out there to be used supersonic. No subs please.

    Thank you,

    Scott

I agree the Nosler E-tip are lead free, but I wouldn't recommend them. I tried and tried with them and had zero luck.

They are a little less expensive than Barnes to buy and I am definitely not saying you shouldn't try them. Also, I am definitely not saying you won't be successful getting them to work for you. All I am saying is after a 100 or so, if things don't seem to be improving it might save you a little scratch to conclude it isn't you.

      Good luck, have fun.

Thanks for the suggestions, and experience. I still have the Barnes to shoot, but I wasn't looking for something better, just an alternative in case my supplies run out and I have to use something else.

A couple days before I went deer hunting last season, I loaded up some Barnes in 30-06 cases and hit the range to sight in my rifle with the new load. The first three rounds were sub moa at 100 yards!!! Then, I did a one shot zero using the group. Fired two more ronds to confirm zero. Fired one round at 400 yard steel for fun. Then, I packed it up and decided that these little .30 cal bullets fly as well as their non-lead free .50cal solids.

However, before loading Barnes to a subsonic load, I'd call Barnes and get their opinion. Their bullets might not perform well at slow speeds.
