    Current Ammo prices?

I did not know where to put this question but this seemed like the best place.

With all the panic buying and lack of stock in most stores i have given thought to looking through my safe and weeding out ammo i will never use. I have 1000 rounds of Blazer .22LR, 650 rounds of 22LR Federal target, 100 rounds of Winchester 9mm, 50 rounds of Wolf 9mm. I have no idea on how much these are selling for so if i can get "going rate" prices that would be great. Thank you to all that post something useful.

    just my 22 cents worth.

I can't believe a gun shop owner would be selling the 550 rounds {22LR} for $85.00 and probably the 8% sales tax added on to that figure. I get the 225 round boxes of Remington at WalMart for $10.76 each. Must be alot of
personnel with "big bucks" spending that kind of money for the ammo. No Way! I will wait for the prices to come back to normal....Rahaugee's over in Corona has reclaimed shot for $25 for 25 lbs. New shot at Wirz Wholesale
in Highland for 40 bucks {25 lbs}....Mike Wirz said that he would have primers in {that was a 2 weeks} soon. I got my Alliant 20/28 powder {4 lb} cannister for $91.98 out the door. 1000 Winchester 209 Shotgun Primers for $38.00. I'm going to BofA this morning and will check with the Big 5 Manager here in Riverside to when they will be getting any ammo in...if memory serves me right, approx. 2 weeks ago...he told me to be there at 10 AM and he had 22's coming in...and I believe he said 30 bucks for the 550 Rounds. I had just bought 3 boxes at WalMart {Mo Valley} and another 3 boxes at the Van Buren {Riverside} store...so I didn't need the 22LR's and I wasn't about to buy ammo 22's and flip them at inflated prices. Forget that S____. I believe the stores have the ammo in the storage rooms and just not in a hurry to stock it, but could be wrong. When I purchased the 3 boxes at Mo Valley, I had also purchased 5 additional boxes and gave {sold} them to a local gun shop {same price I paid} as they had helped my grandson and I with a new shotgun we bought from them. I would be torked if I heard that they doubled the price on the boxes that I sold them to make a "buck"....we shared the ammo so others could buy...not rip them off.

When you do get a price PLEASE POST in the MARKET SECTION.
Also good luck on you selling. It may just help out another member in these times of little ammo to buy.

Look on Gunbroker for completed auctions or nearly completed with bids. You'll get a decent national market price for your stuff.

You can sell the .22's for about $65-85 for 500 plus $10-15 shipping and get it easily.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

IF BUYING AMMO ONLINE, THE SHIPPING COST IS PART OF THE AMMO COST. "YEAH!", says everyone "we know that", however I see prices quoted by posters on forums most NEVER reflect the shipping costs which raises the average cost per round, significantly.

You can sell the .22's for about $65-85 for 500 plus $10-15 shipping and get it easily.

The ammo sold on Gunbroker is pure gouge pricing, even suggesting the GB price is the current market prices is not accurate or fair to the 22 ammo shopper. I attended a NRA meeting last week where the prez of this local group met with the largest ammo wholesaler in the State of Calif. That wholesaler is charging the same prices they were charging prior to the current rush. The prices charged by some gunshops and online ammo dealers are gouging prices trying to take advantage of the situation.

If you are patient, make an effort to get around your area, you will eventually find sources that are charging fair prices. It is sickening to see the same gouging practices in the Calguns private ammo sales forum. While I have no issue with anyone trying to make a buck, I also feel it is necessary to call out those selling with predatory prices, yeah you don't have to buy it. However some people schedule shoots with friends or family and get down to the wire without ammo and are desperate, ending up having to buy from the predatory sellers. Some people don't have the time or money to hunt for fair 22 prices, so guess what they don't shoot. That is the result of predatory pricing.

Here is what I have bought in last two months, even these prices are not very good, but I am working hard to keep the average under .10cents per compared to .13-15 cents and higher charged by some predatory sellers.

Mar CCI Mini Mag 200 rnd $13.00 13c per R.C.S.C.
Mar CCI AR Tactical 375 rnd $40 10.66c per R.C.S.C.
Mar Eley Match & Team (not a decent price)
Mar Federal FreshFire 325 rnd $17 or 05.2c per Kittles
Mar Winchester HP 325 rnd $25 or 07.6c per R.C.G.A
Feb CCI Mini Mag 100 rnd $18 or 18c per Action (gouge gun shop)

Gordon, I'm with you, and I have considered your kind action, (providing excess 22 ammo at cost to store), but the gun stores that I bought guns at are charging outrageous prices for ammo, except where I recently got my Buckmark they sold me 22 ammo at an excellent price, I was so impressed with them.

One smart store, found out their favorite wholesaler had huge amount of 22 ammo in a certain brand. The store owner bought the whole supply, enough to keep 22 ammo on the shelf for over a year. Yeah he rations it out, but no one goes away disappointed, because they got enough ammo for a typical shoot, and at a very fair price under 10 cents a round.
