    Reloading for M1 Garand question

I'm looking for correct MOAL for 30.06 springfield, I'm reloading for an M1 Garand.
This is what I have CMP greek 30.06 MOAL ... 3.324
    Speers book says 3.340

I have 147 gr pulled M80 bullets and to sink them to the cannelure the MOAL is 3.266.. I was wondering if this would an acceptable lenght to shoot safety? Thx for any imput on this matter..JH

M80 bullets are designed for 308. You should not seat to the cannelure. I would stick with Speer.

Also make sure you reload to Garand specs, which are on the lower end of the limits. Also, make sure you use the right powders to prevent your op rod from being bent. FWIW, the m80 bullets have a bad reputation for inaccuracy in Garands. But then again, you can't be picky nowadays.

I've reloaded a few hundred m80 bullets in my garand, seated to the cannelure with no issues. IMO you should be fine.

I concentrate on the mag length, I've shot thousands of everything at 3.295 oal.

So long as you clear the mag. & have enough bullet in the neck to hold it securely, you should be ok.

              Thx to all,
I traded my 150 hornady for m80's :/ . As far as Garand loading spec's I'm using the info I got from a online Garand site (Alabama service rifle team )and it's been backed up by other sources. I'm using the IMR 4895 @ 46.5- 49.00 with a 150 gr. bullet. So far I'm happy with the results of the 46.5 seems most accurate on my grouping. This infomation also states BLC-2 for the Garand.. Has anybody tried it? it just so happens that I have a couple of bottles for my 308 and 556
              looking for imput..thx john
