Correct. Many also tumble after sizing to remove the lube.

Both! I tumble before I deprime and resize, then I do another quick tumble to remove any lube on bottle neck cases. On straight wall cases I don't lube so I only need to tumble before deprime and resize. Hope this helps.

Yep same here. The second tumbling doesn't take long, only 10-15 minutes at most.

I'm also working on getting a sonic cleaner. When I do, my steps will be initial inspection, 1st tumbling, all the case prep work, a bath in the sonic cleaner (or 2nd tumbling), and then onto the prime, powder, seat bullet and crimp.

so the second tumbling to remove the lube after sizing.....is this totally necessary? What harm will a little leftover lube cause?

You need to remove the lube. Lube on the case (or oil in the chamber) will raise pressures.

Not always true bill some lubes are ok to leave on there for instance hornady one shot. But i size/ deprime and then clean. I cant tumble after Lading because im too afraid of water getting into the primer or powder. Btw i use SS media and use an actual tumbler not a vibrator.

I agree with your observation, but I have only tried it with straight walled cases, as I won't use One Shot on bottle necked cases, too many problems. I suspect the same could be said of Imperial sizing wax, although I have never tried it. In general, I remove the lube on all my loaded rounds, even pistol where I use One Shot exclusively. Just a little less crap in the chamber. But good catch on my generalization.

For bottle neck I tumble before and after sizing and depriming, I'll even let it go for more than a hour after I size and deprime to help clean out the primer pocket good. Bill, as for the one shot with bottle necks, that all I've been using and haven't had any problems, but I will only lube a couple at a time cause the one shot tends to dry pretty fast
