I've read that a lotta ppl around here go by either.
I only neck size so I dont really worry about case head separation. Usually people chuck their brass only when they get split necks or the primer pockets dont hold the primer tight anymore. If you do get a case head separation then you need to check the headspace in your rifle first to see if that is the problem and if the rifle checks out then you should buy all new brass and start over.

Also, i think what you described earlier was just marks from the sizing die but if you do find evidence of case stretch in the web then you should at minimum inspect all the cases with a paperclip for ridges or thin spots or the wise thing to do is just get new brass and cycle through it evenly so that eventually it all starts to fail at the same time. I think you are fine with the brass you have though. I wouldnt worry about it too much.

Cool, thx for the advice guys. It really puts my mind at ease having to worry less about blowing up or catastrophic failure. After getting the basics down, i really ought to buy a chrono though. I can't wait to see how this stuff turns out.

Depends on how long his chamber is.

True, I stand corrected, just went by the published max length. However, he should measure his chamber to make sure they won't exceed his chamber length.

Well, i bought the brass from this guy on CL, so i guess his chamber was pretty long. I suppose he was just necksizing it and it grew that long.

I trimmed it down to 2.003" so i can use it in a variety of rifles.
