unless you poured powder down the vent while the water heater was burning you wouldn't have a problem. even the fuel vapor thing is really a longshot. for the record, i'm a plumber .

I have a small loading bench in my den where I re-size and assemble reloads. That is where my press is. I deprime cases by hand with a primer punch in the garage because that is where the hammer is, and I also cast, size, and lube bullets there also. I've never been able to make my Hornady powder measure throw consistant charges, so I measure/weigh them with a scale. I do that at the kitchen table, usually when the Vice President isn't around. I have almost always had one batch or another of reloads in process for the past 30 years, and moving around from one room to another gives me some exercise. I like s4alex's idea of a mini-fridge in the garage though...

if you have no choice but the garage this is what I highly recommend.

I have my press in the garage but keep powder and primers in the house where temp and humidity is more regulated

I think your best bet is to just keep it at my house. My garage does not have the water heater or dryer in it. If that isn't a viable option then I think your garage should be fine. I would keep your primers and gun powder in a container away from the appliances though. Probably overly cautious but you never know.

My Bench, appliances, & component storage are 3 on different walls of the Garage. No sloppiness, no issue.

You could always throw everything out of the spare room and convert it to a Loading / Gun room... I did..

Our spare room is my office and the wife's sewing room. No way is she going to let me give her sewing area the boot to reload. No, it's going to be the garage for sure.

I have a cabinet in my office that I could put a lock on to store all of my primers and powder and then I could just take whatever I am loading with to the garage to reload?

Since I have not reloaded yet, I have read different reloaders complaining about how their powder loader is "sloppy" and "leaks" and that is what got me paranoid. I know that powder in a container isn't going to be a problem and the flame from both the gas water and the gas dryer are enclosed within the appliance, but my spidey sense was tingling as I am looking on where to put the setup.

Just a suggestion, do not store both the powder and primers in the same location. If you are a little handy, build a 3/4 inch plywood box and store each in their own box.
