    Case sticking after shooting

I loaded about 150 rounds of Gunwerks 7LRM yesterday...., FL sized, stainless steel media cleaned, fed 215 primed, 72gr H1000, 180gr Berger hyb bullet, case mouth was slightly beveled inside and out and primer pocket cleaned with RCBS prep master (similar name I think).....

I checked all seating depths and powder weights individually and everything is perfect.....I just went shooting and shot 20 rounds at 750 yards....wind at 8-11 mph....grouped about 9" with most at 6". I'm very happy with the results....although almost every time I ejected the spent case it was pretty hard to pull the bolt back....in some cases extremely hard (ive never had this problem befor with " factory" ammo.....I cleaned the gun after the last time I shot it.....so I'm not sure whats going on. During the time there, I wiped a little break free clp on the neck to see if that would help. It definitely made a difference...but as soon as I put a dry case in and shot it .....I had the same issue.

Any thoughts?....or stuff to try so it'll stop doing this?....it's so hard that I was literally pulling almost as hard as I could to get the bolt back.

Oh....and the outside of the necks were really dirty ....like I've never cleaned the gun before

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

I could not find 7LRM on hodgdons website but 7rem mag has a compressed max load of 69.5grains of H1000. Do you have reloading manuals that said 70 grains was a starting load?

I'de guess the load is too hot for your rifle.....back off the charge and start again.

Usually, a sticky bolt and difficult extraction is from hot loads. It can also be from a dirty chamber.

I would take a good carbon cleaning solvent and large copper brush ( a 50 cal. brush will probably work) and clean the chamber really well and patch it dry.

The 7LRM is not a common caliber. Your load seems to be a proven load for that caliber. Load 5 rounds @ 70 grains and see what happens.

If that doesn't do it, I'd put a call into Gunwerks.

          Thanks

Thanks guys. The 7LRM is good to go.....it's a .375 Ruger case necked to 7mm. There's nothing wrong with the load....I'm going to clean it up real well and maybe the chamber needs some more cleaning....I'm a neat freak...but you never know

Google Gunwerks 7LRM and check it out.....pretty great load.

50 cal brush on order......I was looking at specific chamber cleaning stuff.....but that looks like the ticket......thank you

If there was nothing wrong with the load you would not have a sticky bolt.
What works in one rifle may not work in another ESPECIALLY if it has a short throat. How far off the rifling are you seating the bullets? You may need more jump. Without seeing the rifle etc it is hard to tell the trouble. That said a sticky bolt is almost always a sign of too hot a load.

You posted before I did. Glad you found the trouble.
