I received my Lyman case gauge in the mail yesterday, and after checking quite a few cases, I didn't find any that needed the FC die. since I'm loading on a single stage press, and this would be 1 less opperation, I'm thinking of putting away the FC die.

I've been loading 9mm for 20years with RCBS carbide die set all range pickup brass never trimmed or even checked case length and have always crimped and seated at the same time. All you need is a small crimp just enough to keep the bullet from seating deeper.

I use the bench tap check. I take a completed cartridge push it bullet first into the side of the bench as long as it doesn't seat in deeper your GTG.

Crimp does not prevent the bullet from seating deeper.
