Last week I caught wind of a new Walmart opening this morning. Knowing a new store would be stocked to the hill I figured my odds of finding ammo would be good.
I arrived about 30 minutes before opening and there were probably 200 people in line already. When the doors opened I made a beeline to the Sporting Goods dept. to find another line with about 30 people ahead of me. Apparently I'm not the only one who had the same idea.
The store seemed pretty organized and had 4 people working that area. Two people maned the ammo shelves and two the registers. They were limiting ammo to 3 boxes per person regardless of the ammo type. Maybe the first 10 people were getting 250 round boxes of 9mm ($65) and large boxes of .223.
By the time I made it to the shelf I got two boxes of 100-round Winchester 9mm and a 20-round box of 5.56. The Winchester was $24.47 so not bad.
