    Is It Worth It?

So when I bought my safe from my father in law it came with a bunch of loose/open boxes of ammo and few unopened boxes. I am wondering if it is even worth trying to sell? Here are some pics of the unopened stuff.

sure it is -- especially with todays market --
I would just sell locally face to face -- least hassle -

Old ammo is like a collectible!

It's like baseball cards...in a decade the value increases....

Their are people who buy old stuff...just like the box of old .38 special...sell it for at least $40 bucks!

Really? I have a box of 30-30 that looks to be about as old as the box of .38 special.

Or use that ammo as an excuse to buy more guns in those calibers! Wouldn't want that ammo to go to waste now.

I am actually hoping to sell it to help fund the purchase of my next gun. I also have more of this stuff it's just that these are the only boxes that are not opened.

The shotgun ammo will fetch $10 per box for pretty much any of the 3" magnum stuff.
The non magnum will be good for $6 to $8 a box.
The newer 30-30 will get you $10 to $15 a box.
The old kleenbore might get up to $30 if you found a collector, but it's not old enough to be really valuable.
The 38special is not old enough to be collectible either.
                  Figure $15 on that one.
The partial boxes will be worth partial values of the full box prices according to how full they are.

Unless you have a LOT of other boxes of ammo, I don't see you funding a gun by selling off what's in the pictures above.

I have quite a bit of shotgun ammo. I wasn't hoping to fund the total purchase of a new gun just a portion of it. Thanks for the prices.
