    Reloading Questions

    Hi All,

Me and a couple of friends are thinking of starting to reload our own ammo since we go through much ammo on a monthly basis. We want to start reloading our own and maybe even start selling them as well in small volumes

    Here are our concerns:

-Is there any "special" liscense we need to acquire besides from a regular
    business liscence?

-Is there a limit as to how much we can sell or make?

-Can we use a house as a production location or does it have to be in an
    industrial area?

    - What are the legal parameters (if there is any) of storing the powder and
other materials needed to reload ammo?

I guess these are some of our questions for now. Any input or advise will be greatly appreciated!!!

You will need a type 06 Federal Firearms License to manufacture ammo for sale.
This is not something you are going to get easily.
It will need to be a dedicated business building.
Lots of other things will need to be done as far as the fire codes for storing the powder, the city and county permits and inspections, insurance etc before you get the FFL...

Short answer: it is WAY WAY WAY harder than you thought.....

HUGE HUGE HUGE liability, so that comes a HUGE insurance bill...

      The FFL isn't easy neither...

One of the biggest rules in reloading is to never shoot anyone else's reloads.
That would then mean that you would never let anyone else use YOUR reloads either.
            Reloading is a personal thing.

I let others shoot my reloads, in my guns, while I'm present. Actually, I only want people to shot my handloads in my 50s. There is some pretty hot "factory" ammo out there and I don't want it run in either of my big guns.

I enjoy it when my wife wants to shoot my loads. I'm getting old and the reloading proccess seem to take a little longer than they used to.

If you're having problems with consistent reloading times or your equipment not working properly you can buy accessories to help with that.

Everything works fine and the ram on my press is still straight and true. It's just that as I get older, I seem to need a little more time between loading sessions.

The above three posts not having smilies both amuses and disturbs me.

Blue press accessories help with reloading times. Even if you don't need them they're fun to try out.

I've used the blue cool aid to help with increase my recreational loading time. Yes, they do help but, all the blue stuff is expensive.Besides, sometimes it's more fun to spend a little more time doing the prep work.My wife does a great job turning necks.
