Storage for used brass

$1 shoebox from Wally World for cleaned brass. 1 Fallon buckets for dirty.

I used to use the plastic peanut jars, but they don't stack as well.

I use cheap plastic containers from Walmart or Target and labels.

You can get 5 gallon buckets from your local bakery or supermarket sometimes for free. Food grade ones too if you are looking for survival prep. Home depot usually sells 5 gallon buckets for $4-$5 as well. Just ask your bakery (or Walmart bakery) around closing time if they have any buckets they are going to be throwing out.

You may need to clean them out, but its worth it. Get a 5 gallon trash bag to keep the bucket clean too if you REALLY want.

I have some brass in those same containers I got from Target, the cheap dollar-store bins with lids are pretty flimsy, but those .99 Target ones are solid.
These stack well.

I usually use small plastic containers for projectiles so they are more vertical, than horizontal as boxes of bullets, such as the one on the left take up too much space if your space is limited:

I'm using an old tub of butter for brass while at the range....dump it into a 5 gallon bucket at home. Once I get more variety of calibers I'll get more buckets or maybe those $0.99 tubs you guys show above from target.

Transparent plastic tends to hold on to crime from dirty brass, so I just use those bins for clean brass. While at the range, I just throw dirty brass in whatever I happen to empty while there, usually a plastic coffee can/tub as they are not transparent and I don't care how those look on the inside.

you said you want to keep fingers out. Well, kids have a way of getting into stuff. Half our kids are 2/3rds of the way cracking our gunsafes as it is.

So if you are really concerned about kid fingers, id say get a sentry gun cabinet (from craigslist of course, no reason to pay $100 for a $50 cabinet) and stick your brass in there.

Lockers are often on CL too and would work.

I have a storage cabinet with a lock so I just keep most of my items in cardboard boxes that I've receive from Amazon.
