Xtreme bullets and 357mag ??

    Xtreme bullets and 357mag ??

    I have some 158gr Xtreme bullets I'm going to load with hp38 how much crimp can I put on these bullets never used plated bullets for 357. Thanks for any help.

    The sure fire way is to crimp, then pull to and check to make sure you are not deforming the plated bullet.

      If your sizing die is giving you decent neck tension, you only need to take he belling out. Wih W231 you aren't going to be producing nuclear recoil which might cause a bullet to walk back out enough to jam he action.

          Yeah, those things will be traveling at glorified 38 spl speeds. Even with hot h110 loads i use a light crimp.

          On a plated bullet note: ive been working up loads using plated bullets in .357 with H110 and think Xtreme is underestimating max fps. Of course i dont have a chrono, but ive hit max load with no problems.

              I use the X-treme 158gr plated SWC over 14gr of 2400 for my "fun at the range" loads. No problems so far. I don't have a chrono but the data sez around 1100-ish, 1200-ish fps. I use a fairly stout crimp with standard primers.
