    Golden West Brass

Has anyone bought from these guys in the last year?

Every single time I check their website, everything's out (this has been going on for a year or so, before the panic buying started). Do they just not update their site?

It's basically a one-man operation and I don't think it's his main source of income. His dies and swages are second hand from what I've been told. Quality is spotty. Last thousand .308/165s I bought from him (pre-Obama) fell into two categories: good and not so good. Not so good ones showed worn die run-out (.001-.002), but they were about as good as milsurp pulldowns through the barrel. The good ones were GOOD.

Give him a call during business hours. He'll usually give you an idea when certain product will be available.

I called him within the last 2 months and he told me that his machines are broken down and that he is out of stock of everything and doesn't expect to be back in production till the fall. I had good luck with some 9mm bullets i bought from him a few years back, but never did mic them, just loaded and shot, didnt notice any qc issues.

I wanted to support a California biz so I ordered 1000 55 grainers from him a year or so ago, price was good except he gouged the hell outta me for S&H. My calguns discount was like $10 but then S&H was like $24. Took a week just to ship. It came in a USPS Flat-Rate box with a $5 stamp on it.

Oh and the quality was less than good. Inconsistent cannalure, large weight variations, and a dozen or so throw aways that didn't even resemble a bullet.

I'm sticking with Grafs and Powder Valley and even Midway for Hornady FMJ's, better pricing quality and service.
