    Experience with surplus powder?

Anyone have any experience loading surplus powders? I'm looking at the imr7383 over at gibrass.com. It's not a pull down powder either so that should be good, right?

On that note, if anyone wants some of it maybe we can order together so we can save on that hazmat fees.

I have used a bunch of the surplus pull down powder for my 50bmg rifles. I have a buddy who has used quite a bit of mil surplus powder for other cartridges with no ill effects.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I got some 844t before the craziness and had a buddy of mine test some loads. At 97 yards according to his laser, 4 of the 5 holes were touching with his 223 bolt gun. Im not sure what his recipe was ATM.

It was designed for use in the M48 (.50spotter) cartridge that served as the spotting round for the 106mm recoiless.

It's said to be similar to IMR4831, but bulkier. Reduce charges by 15% and work up the load for your particular rifle/cartridge combination.
