I found 5.5gr of Unique under a 115gr lead RN bullet, loaded to an OAL of 1.130" cycled all my 9's, if a bit dirty.
When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."

Please do not just use "one book". ALWAYS use at least two indepedent sources when starting a new load.

My Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook shows between 4.5 and 5.7 grains of Unique using Winchester cases and primers. Since 5.5gr is alomst MAX, I strongly recommend starting lower and working up. Personally, I try to keep my cast loads on the low side. I just don't like pushing non GCed bullets too fast. Also, as a reminder, do not shoot lead in a stock Glock barrel.

I think 5.2 Unique was pushing cast 100 gr. lead 1300fps, if I recall correctly...

I am running cast bullets with unique powder as well. I found you can load from 4.3 to 5.0 grains with good effect at 1.12 OAL. I currently am running about 4.8 grains

Yes I run this in a stock Glock barrel

I would start at 5.0 of Unique and work up. I currently shoot 4.6 of Unique with a 125gr Bear Creek bullet. My load is fairly tame, but accurate.

Also, you can shoot anything through a Glock barrel. Disregard any advice to the contrary because the "no lead through Glock barrels" thing is an Internet myth.

                      115 gr Bear Creek Moly
                      4.7 grains unique
                      1.115 coal

Runs and cycles all my 9mm pistols. Accurate.

Yea, always start low. I had a 40 load from Lyman that said 5.4 gr max univ clays, I started with 5 grains and they recoiled like a 10mm, I pulled 99 rounds that afternoon. Lowered my starting to 4.4 and 4.6 gr was recoiling like factory loads. Funny thing, my primers weren't even flat but the load was wayyyy hot even with ample col and in the frigid morning.
