    Shipping ammo to Alaska

How do I ship ammo from California to Alaska?
    Or
Is it cheaper to sell it all?

You can go to any central FEDEX or USP hub and ship it. Most of the little UPS type stores will not ship ammo any longer.

    USPS will not ship it.

      Sell it.

There is no cost effective way for you to ship ammo to Alaska. UPS and FedEx transport stuff to Alaska by airplane, and ammo shipped by air does't qualify for the limited quantity/ORM-D hazmat exemption. It would have to be shipped by somebody with a UPS or FedEx hazmat account. Companies with hazmat accounts usually don't ship hazmat packages for other people and setting up an account for yourself would end up costing you hundreds of dollars.

Most airlines will allow you to take up to 11 pounds of ammo in your checked baggage and Alaska Airlines allows up to 50 pounds. So if you are flying up to Alaska you do have the option of taking some of your ammo with you.
