    CFE223 Just tested them!

First off, went to the range to test this CFE223. When I got there, it was like everyone and their mother was there shooting up a storm! I thought there was an ammo shortage. Anyway, the CFE223 shot tighter groups than the other rounds I had loaded up with H335. Just thought I'd share it with you all.

CFE is good to go! I also had good groupings with it and meters ok.

What was your load and grouping etc. You could be saying a tighter grouping from you last 324" group

love CFE223, nice groups, can be had for decent price. Still for plinking i prefer surplus, way cheaper when the accuracy doesnt matter. not overly smelly either. truly good stuff, wish Miwall would stock it in the 8 lb tubs

Sorry, no velocity. 26.8 of CFE223 with a 55gn FMJBT
I was a bit rushed so my first group was 1.5" with the H335/WC844 and the were an inch with the CFE223
That's 25 yards with an aimpoint compM2 and coffee.

If we're shooting over an inch at 25 yards I don't think we can qualify which bullets/powder/primers are better. Either way, glad you found something that works for you.

I am still waiting on an 8 pound keg of CFE 223 from Powder Valley Inc I ordered last month. Down to my last pound fo WW748.

Agree, but non the less thanks for sharing, I just found 3lbs the other day at my LGS. Not sure if I believe the hype on CFE, nor do I care for it and the extra cost. But today any .223 ball powder is good powder. Will be working up some loads very soon.

I bought it when that was the only thing on the shelf.

CFE is good stuff. I've been using it in my SPR with some 77 grain Nosler CC with excellent results. My current load uses 24 grains of CFE-223 in Lake City brass with the Nosler 77 grain HPBT seated to a length of 2.25" using CCI #41 primers. By reverse engineering my trajectory at 650 yards, I'm getting a muzzle velocity of 2820 to 2850 FPS out of an 18" barrel. 5 shot groups at 100 yards typically stay within 3/4 moa, with most of the shots nearly in the same hole.

Unfortunately, I'm down to my last 1lb can of this stuff. Probably not important though, as I am completely out of the Nosler 77 grain bullets. My local shop only has the 40 grain and lighter varmint bullets in stock.

Ok so it shoots good but what about a report what the powder really is all about. Any copper fouling?
