    Reloading data?

    Hello,

Can I used Lead bullet data on jacketed bullets. I want to reload some low recoil .44 mag loads for plinking.

    Thanks

Yes. Plated data falls in between lead and jacketed. IME closer to jacketed but the safest route is to use lead data.

Sure. What weight bullet are you loading, I probably have a 1000fps W231 load for it.

+1 to all above, lead data is always safe for same bullet weight jacketed/plated. Just use stated OAL too.

Not always. Some lead data for light .38 special loads could potentially create squib loads in jacketed loads because of the increased friction. Speer for example recommends not going below certain charges with jacketed loads they have listed for .38 special.

Why not just use cast lead bullets, about half the price of jacketed and If lubed correctly wont lead the bore.

Safe pressure-wise, wasn't speaking to any other issue here. Squibs are a possibility with any bullet type if you load too light. I never use minimum listed charge for starting, I just lop 5-10% off maximum.
