Cosmoline removal

Hey guys,

Don't know if this is the right spot for this, but what do you use to get that protective grease off magazines and gun parts?

I don't think just wiping with rags will do it, is there a good substance which will take it off but not mess up the steel underneath?

Small steam cleaner or spray type carb cleaner.

i use kerosene, melts it off fine and far less nasty on your health than carb cleaner.

odorless mineral spirits will do the trick! AKA paint thinner
