    Xtreme Bullets QC?

I bought my first Xtreme brand plated bullets at Angeles Range's reloading store, 500ct of .451 FN 200gr for ~$70. I go to dive into them last night and my first five I pull out of the batch I get these:

The one on left has a large chunk missing from the plating, and it doesn't go to lead, it looks like maybe there was an air bubble or something in the casting??

Second looks like corrosion almost like when a piece of brass is left to weather or wet on a side. Pic doesnt show, but the mark goes all the way down the one side

So is this common? Ive used thousands and thousands of Rainiers and Hornadys but never seen anything like this.. Im hoping I don't have 495 questionable projectiles (eventhough they are just for the range).

Im going to use the corroded looking one because I dont think it really has any damage, what of the one with the hole in it? Is that safe to load in a moderate .45ACP?

I order 1000 40s&w but they only sent me 500. They billed me for 1000. I Have attempted to call them twice, each time leaving a message but no call back.

I've loaded a few thousand .40 S & W and 9mm Xtreme bullets and not had any that looked like that.

I've loaded many thousands of of west coast and Xtreme without a bad batch. Many they were made quicker with less oversight due to high demand.

You can load that one with the nose damage, not going to effect anything at the range and velocity you will be using it for.

The ones that have shipped from Xtreme have always been flawless, ive had a few weird ones like that in a box of .38 158 grn rnpf i bought at the angeles store. No negative effects from loading them though.

Xtreme did short me a few bullets in some of their 500 count boxes, has never been more than 20 or so short though.

It should be noted that ive found discoloration like that as well on alot of the berrys bullets ive ordered from grafs. No problems at all with the ones i got directly from berry's though.

I would be checking their diameter and not their cosmetics. I have a box of their 200gr SWC that contains bullets as small as .450".

Been Reloading for about a year. And all I use is extreme bullets. About 6000 rounds so far and have not had a bad bullet. They r cheap and I can get them local.

thats sucks but like others i have not had any problems
$70 is steep when you can get them for under $60 directly from xtreme

Humm I have been loading Xtremes for the last year, many thousands in 9mm, 40, 45, & 38/357 never seen one that looked like those. Just received 1500 and after a quick look they looked fine. As far as calling them, I left a message last night and they called me this morning. I've never had a issue with returned calls. I would not give up on Xtreme for I were you, they have been a very good business to deal with in the past, with the sudden rush on demand many businesses customer service it being pushed to levels they aren't really ready for.

I've loaded and shot well over 50,000 West Coast/Extreme bullets and never had a problem. I opened the first box of the 10,000 I bought last year and they are fine.

As in understand you have to order of 25,000 to get the lower price directly from Extreme

I've loaded at over 100k Xtreme Bullets and never had a problem with them. Most boxes I've opened have had 503 in them, though I have found a couple that were 1 or 2 short of 500. I've never opened one and found the issues you did. Too bad they aren't returning phone calls, though I expect that it's because they are so busy right now

nope i buy them 500 at a time
the price onhttp://www.xtremebullets.com is $57/500 for my 200gr plated round nose, $61/500 for 230gr plated round nose
went through the checkout and looks like shipping is included

I bought them from Freedom Munitions along with some other stuff. Still Xtreme has them for good price if you go directly to them.

The last big group buy I ran was 125k rounds. No complaints from anyone although we were shorted a box of 230gr. Xtreme sent a replacement the next day.

Quality has been perfect for all of the .45 and 9mm I've loaded. I just faxed another order on Monday for 60k bullets and haven't yet heard back. I think they're slammed. The ladies in the office are usually very nice responsive.
