    Older Federal Primers

My father in law gave me his reloading gear, and a bunch of Federal Primers~
Older red and blue boxes. 100's and 200s in large and small. in the anvil part of the primer is a small green area.

Does anybody know if this is normal or are they bad to use?

    thanks for any assistance.....

There ok. You might notice a green dot on the box for pistol primers and red dots for rifle primers. They colored the primers to tell you what they are back then. Dont know if Federal still does that.

I've got some plastic practice bullets and cases to test them all with.
