It could be that your barrel doesn't like them. Maybe they are undersized?

I have shot much shorter rounds with great results, my rate of twist is 1:9 so it should be fine.

I havent tryed the Hornday 55gr. For cost reason I use the Winchester 55gr with 25gr of 2230. I have a 16" 1/9 twist brl. and shoot 2" at 200 and 5-6" at 300. I shot in 10 to 25 mph wind today and had a 6-8" group at 200yrds. If the gun doesnt like the Hornday use the sierra or give the winchester's a try.

          Yup, it could be.
My 24" Grendel is supposed to like 123 Lapua. Obviously nobody told the barrel because it likes 129 SSTs.

I have been trying to work up loads using the 55 gr hornady's and Ramshot TAC powder. Today I finally got something I was satisfied with. 25.5 gr of Tac is what gave me my best group today but Tac is all over the place as far as ES and SD on the chronograph. Ive learned to deal with it as my groups are good enough. The hornady's are good for plinking but I wouldnt trust them for serious competition. Check your seating depths. Are they consistent? Mine werent very consistent. The weight from bullet to bullet wasnt al that consistent either. I say take the hornady's for what they are worth. You can only get so much accuracy out of them.

I just tried out a Nosler 55-gr ballistic tip spitzer, boat tail in my Howa 1500, 1 in 12 twist barrel. 5 shots were 3/4 MOA at 100-yards, removing the one "flyer", the other four were 1/2 MOA. 25.0 gr Varget, 2.232 OAL. That bullet is 0.810-in long.

TAC powder works great with heavier bullets like 77 smk

Thats why I bought the Hornady it was 1000 for $60. I normal load is 60gr V max packed with 27C Varget this load allows me to group under an inch at 200 meters, I set up shotgun shells and go down the row hit them or the brass of the shell. I have also had good luck with the 75gr.

I didn't mean "measure the length," I meant measure the dia. They could be a a little smaller or larger than your Sierras.
