    CCI br4 primers for ar

I have some CCI 400 primers but I was thinking of getting some br4's any thoughts?

BR4 are just considered "match" primers.

I know people who used the BR2s but prefer the 200 for the cost.

Those were the two types of primers I could get when I first started reloading. While working up a load I made 5 rounds of each charge weight with 400's and 5 rounds with BR4's. Shooting them side by side, the BR4's shot smaller groups in 3 out of 4 charge weights. Below are measurements of my 5 shot groups. I just picked up another 500 BR4's and plan on using them for my precision reloads.

      Charge....BR4....400
      22.5.......1.52"..1.93"
      22.9.......0.85"..1.60"
      23.3.......0.81"..1.53"
      24.0.......2.31"..2.03"
