    Reloading Supplies

Does anyone have a good place to get bulk powder and projectiles in or around Long Beach?
    I'm interested in a source for 223, 30 cal M2 ball, 30 carbine, 45 acp and 32 cal/8mm.
I'm also looking for some 8mm Mauser brass that can be reloaded.

    Thanks
    Fred

I doubt seriously if you're going to find anywhere locally to buy in bulk in LA county since The Reloading Center closed. Most of us who buy in bulk do so on line or else organize group buys.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

Thanks Timberwolf, where do you get on board with group buys, I haven't really seen any here. I'd hate to buy lead on line because of shipping...

I would try to buy lead locally - you may check with The Stockade or maybe Redding (it been years since I cast so I may be out in left field, heck I used to get old wheel weights from the tire stores when I was really heavy into bullet casting) but for jacketed rifle and pistol bullets, brass, primers and powder I normally buy through Powder Valley, Grafs of Wideners. They normally have the best prices. A few people on his just did a group buy through Powder Valley and I'm sure we'll be doing another soon.

Just set up your own group buy if no one has one open at this moment in time. It's not that hard to find people to pool together for a 48+ lb order.

It's gotten to the point where I only need 1 or 2 other people to max out a single hazmat order.

Setting up a group buy isn't the easiest thing.... my last one is 100lb+ stuff... and I shelled out 2k+ of my own money to get the thing going....

Yet, it is very rewarding to be able to get the stuff you want, at the price you will never find locally, and get to meet your local shooters!

And cheers to Jicko for taking the trouble to do all of that for us.

Try Phillips Wholesale in Covina, SoCal for Bulk Powder and Bullets, maybe even lead.

I've found that group buys are only a chore if you make it one.

I stopped caring about money in advance. Most of the time now, I know everyone I'm buying for. Even if I don't know someone who's buying in, it's not a big deal to cover it. Worst case that person bails and I have to find someone else to buy the powder off me. Very easy to sell an 8lb jug of some powder for far less than any local retailer.

As far as a 100lb order, was there any benefit of placing one that large? At what point do they require a 06FFL?
