Maybe not as clean but plenty clean enough.

^^^ This, a large Dillon tumbler and their media separator will do the job. I run a tad over a 1000 .223 at a time in mine no problemo. Doesn't take all day either.Comment

enjoy !!!

Sup bro?!?!?! You want 'lick it like a lollipop' clean?? The theory behind tumbling is so the loaded ammo cycles. Not to post pics on the internet with.
Just me....

I wet tumble and it comes out really clean. I built mine, but here is a guy who makes and sales them. Check his site out, it might give you some ideas. I believe he has one that will tumble about 1k of 223s. Also there is a post of wet tumbling on CGs that you also might want to check out.
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms or laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

Sorry I hurt so many "feelings" with the dry tumbling crowd here.
I've only wet tumbled with ss media. I don't know of any other way. I've never even seen anything else. I just wanted to see some picts. Honestly, if it's easier, less time consuming and they come out somewhat clean enough to run through my dies, then I will change over. We all know how much of a time suck it is just to prep these rifle cases.Originally posted by meIt's all about standards. You have yours and I have mine. Mine just happen to be higher.Comment

That looks pretty good. I'm in for anything that'll cut some time out on these cases.
Wet tumbling get's it squeaky clean inside and out....but
it's a time consuming pain in the azz!
How does the dry tumbling or vibrator do as far as removing the sizing lube? That would cut prep time by alot!Originally posted by meIt's all about standards. You have yours and I have mine. Mine just happen to be higher.Comment

but my issue is with the flash hole and primer pockets being clean ... You can clean brass by dry tumbling media but not as clean as with wet tumbling ... For someone who wishes to load hi accuracy loads doesnt it require that the flash holes and primer pockets be clean and the inside of the brass spotless ???
I have been tumbling alot ... not alot of 223 but 40sw close to 100lbs of it half of last year and this year. Just using crush walnuts and nu-finish ... And I have 40lbs of 40sw waiting for me to be cleaned...USPSA# TY72824 = Grand Master of InconsistencyComment

No, spotless clean is not very important in these areas, just uniformity. Besides, if you have not done trimming, flash hole reaming, neck shaving and "then" case weight segregation first, nothing else matters because the cases are not uniform volume to start with. Internal soot has no measurable effect on case volume, neither does the primer pocket.but my issue is with the flash hole and primer pockets being clean ... Decided to stop by Harbor Frieght to look around and they had their 18lb tumbler on sale. I picked it up since it was $150. What a difference in size versus my Hornady M2. I have a crap ton of 9mm in there tumbling tonight so we will see how it does in the morning.
