    some info needed

I dont usually trim/check length on straight wall brass .

but , I wonder if that's same way for magnum rounds ... like 44 and 357

my coworker is getting ready and im helping him with what to buy list .

since those above rounds are hot rounds , do they stretch more than none magnum rounds ?

They still dont stretch much, but they definatley do stretch. You really only need to worry about trimming if your going to roll crimp.

Most of my magnum brass cracks before it needs to be trimmed, plus the chamber is very generous in most revolvers so long brass wont have a really negatve effect unless it gets riiculously long.

While many state otherwise, I trim all of my straight wall brass the first time. Then not after that unless something really runs amok.

I like to know that if the hole in the paper ain't where it's supposed to be, that it's me and not my gun or ammunition. I like to make it as consistent as possible, so I trim to make sure that the crimp is in the some spot for the same load, for the same outcome....boring huh?

Do you have to trim? Prolly not if you're into plinking and decent accuracy. I'm simply not into that, I like the accuracy that my ammunition provides for me. So I work a little harder at it is all.
