    .223 brass anywhere?

Been looking for .223 brass, anyone know anywhere that has it in stock? What would be a good price for ready to load 500 cases?

A year ago, I paid ~$120 shipped for 1000 pieces of processed brass (tumbled, swaged, trimmed). This was on Gunbroker. (I could have probably found it for less, but it wasn't worth the time and effort to save 10 bucks.)

A quick glance just now shows that prices today are around $160 shipped.

      I got some from brassrelaod.com.

It was all lake city crimped primers. The unprocessed stuff is sold out, but cleaned and sized is $85 for 500.

That is what I got. It came quick.

edit. looks like he changed it a bit... not sized anymore for that price.

Why ask to buy when I can wait till they leave and pick it up off the floor. It's also not a guarantee that is once fired, could be factory reloads or reloads from a booth at gun show.

+1 on going to the range.

Most people trash their brass, ask and they will give.

I figured you should ask so that way you are being courteous to the range and also that way the person doesn't sweep it up. I'm not sure if your aware but range etiquette is not to pickup brass that's not yours because the range collects and sells the brass.

I have maybe 2000 cases that I picked up from burro, sac valley and other ranges. Go up to burro this weekend and sit next to a cluster of guys shooting ARs. Politely ask them if they are keeping their brass, and if not, can you take it. I haven't purchased a .223 case yet!

There are a couple of government auctions going on where you can buy several thousand pounds of 556.

Top Brass has fully processed .223 available for 2-3 week delivery in 500 and 1000 lots. Not anywhere as cheap as it used to be though, just a few years ago it was $60-70 for 1000, oh well, that's why I use range pick and process it myself nowadays
