Been looking for .223 brass, anyone know anywhere that has it in stock? What would be a good price for ready to load 500 cases?

A year ago, I paid ~$120 shipped for 1000 pieces of processed brass (tumbled, swaged, trimmed). This was on Gunbroker. (I could have probably found it for less, but it wasn't worth the time and effort to save 10 bucks.)
A quick glance just now shows that prices today are around $160 shipped. -
I got some from brassrelaod.com.
It was all lake city crimped primers. The unprocessed stuff is sold out, but cleaned and sized is $85 for 500.
That is what I got. It came quick.
edit. looks like he changed it a bit... not sized anymore for that price.Last edited by arslin; 01-08-2013, 11:54 AM."One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws."

just go to a shooting range and ask somebody shooting a .223 if you could buy there brass from them at least you will know for sure its once fired brassComment

Why ask to buy when I can wait till they leave and pick it up off the floor. It's also not a guarantee that is once fired, could be factory reloads or reloads from a booth at gun show. You kick a donkey enough and it will bite you. Yep its on the net look it up.Comment

I just ask nicely....they always give it to me.#blackriflesmatter
<4 years till retirement, can't wait to leave this state
California, where all of the good stuff is banned, registered, regulated or prohibited, yay.....
Law abiding firearm owners have no chance in this state.

I figured you should ask so that way you are being courteous to the range and also that way the person doesn't sweep it up. I'm not sure if your aware but range etiquette is not to pickup brass that's not yours because the range collects and sells the brass.Comment

I have maybe 2000 cases that I picked up from burro, sac valley and other ranges. Go up to burro this weekend and sit next to a cluster of guys shooting ARs. Politely ask them if they are keeping their brass, and if not, can you take it. I haven't purchased a .223 case yet!Comment

Top Brass has fully processed .223 available for 2-3 week delivery in 500 and 1000 lots. Not anywhere as cheap as it used to be though, just a few years ago it was $60-70 for 1000, oh well, that's why I use range pick and process it myself nowadays
