    Surplus 8 X 56r - Source?

Does anybody know where I can source inexpensive 8x56r ammo? Ive looked in the 'net and mos places are out, the one I found had some going for about $45 for 20 rounds. I wanted to jump on a Steyr M95 but if I can shoot it, then what's the point? Thanks.

Yeah...almost picked one up yesterday from Big 5. Very clean all matching numbers, nice bore, nice stock....then I started thinking about ammo. Too bad they weren't having a deal on K98s.

Not online, but RCGX in Sacramento has it for $7 for 10 rounds on strippers( you need those to fire this rifle)

And buy reloading dies while you are at it.

                Ammo is here.

Both have Hornady Metric Caliber Ammo in 8x56r for around $25
                for 20 rounds.

It is my belief, that this is the future of Military Surplus Rifles of WWII.

Surplus ammo will become more and more rare with each passing year. Find the rifle/rifles you personally like and may even wish to start collecting, buy some WWII ammo for the sake of collecting history. Then buy a press & the dies and enjoy shooting these living pieces of history.

You can own a piece of history, feel it, hear it and experience it. All starting at just $70 and up.

I get to pick up my 'new' Mosin Nagant 91/30 AND my 'new' Mannlicher Budapest M1895 tomorrow morning, Thursday. I can't hardly wait.

I am 59 years old and have considered this since I was 13 as a youngster and looking at them in the old Miller's Surplus Store in Ontario, before Miller's Outpost took away the surplus aspect of the store.

Today, we have the internet to learn the history from, to learn how to load and even where to buy the loading supplies at the best price. Gun/Shooter Clubs are online and helpful forums at your fingertips.

Buy one or collect many, but don't wait 46 years to start like I did. Now Let's All Go And Enjoy. Realize the supplies available today will be much less in the near future.

Buy the rifles while you can. You can always learn the hobby of reloading later. (stepping down off the soap box now).
