New Reloader

Hey there Calgunners,
I'm just getting into reloading for my .357 and I want to make sure I'm doing everything safely and correctly. I got a Dillon press with dies and all that jazz. What advice can you all offer for this undertaking?

Alway double check to make sure you have powder in the case before seating the bullet. I use a flash to check my rifle cases.

Just take it slow. Concentrate on the process instead of how many rounds you can churn out in an hour. There is a lot to learn and lot that can go wrong, especially since starting out on a progressive (im assuming you didnt get a dillon single stage).

Also, maybe pickup a load guide like Lyman or Lee and read the how to section. Will take maybe an afternoon, time well spent.

Do one round at a time until you are totally comfortable with all that is going on.

LED desk lamp focused down in the case above the seating station. As posted above, look into each case before seating the bullet. IKEA sells them for $10, I bought two a long time ago, still have one in the box.

Buy the Lyman #49 manual and read it. It will answer most questions you will have and it has good data in ti.
