Is 2007/2008 repeating again?

Seems like everyone is running out of primers again. Are you guys seeing the same thing for Powder. Is this a repeat of 2007/2008? Luckily, I have sufficient stock since the last panic buying.

To me it seems like we just got back to seeing stuff available for sale and in stock on a normal basis now all the panic buyers are buying everything up in stock again.

Luckily i was bale to pick up about 500 hundred primers last month and another 3 pounds of powder for .223 it will be enough to keep me shooting for the winter time.

Only thing is the prices havent really dropped much from 08.I use to load .223 for 10 cents a round when i started reloading in 97 and .45 was about the same now its double.Before 08 the last time i bought supplies was about 06 and it was about the same as when i started reloading.

Looks like I picked a bad time to start reloading. I was having a hard time finding small pistol primers but lucked out today and found some. I would have a few thousand small paper weights if I couldn't find any.

If things dried up completely for a year solid, i still have enough components to keep me shooting USPSA weekly for several years if i were to ration them (IOW never practice).

It'll be back to normal sooner than you think.

I was waiting over an hour for a PPT in a small shop. Buyer after buyer "Do you have .223? No." Over and over again. Hit my walmart, only .223 is fancy defense ammo $26 for 20 rounds. Be prepared.

Ammo is sold out and reloading components are drying up by the hour. Primers and bullets; especially .224 and .308, are all but gone from most stores and internet sites. The 8# cannisters of powder are already running out and the 1# bottles will be next.
If you didn't stock up, better be prepared to pay much higher prices very soon.

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse in Rocklin yesterday and they had signs posted in the reloading area that customers would be limited to 1000 primers and either 2 one pound jugs or one 4 or 8 pound jugs of powder.

I thought that was kind of humorous, since they only had about 1000 primers on the shelf, and I think they were all shotshell primers. They keep the powder in the back, so I couldn't tell how low they were on it.

All three Walmarts in my area are completely out of 22lr, and although I reload 9mm, and .223, 22lr is a family favorite for range trips... My closest Walmart has been out of 22lr every time I went in the last 3 times, the shelf is completely empty aside from 22-shorts (well 22Mag is on the shelf below...), and I bought those...

The lack of 22lr surprises me most. That stuff was always easy to find during the scare of 2009.
