    When reloading with SS109 bullets...?

When reloading with SS109 bullets does a person follow the same published data as a regular 62 or 63 grain bullet even though it is longer?

I'm wanting to try out a load using LC brass, 62 gr. SS109, Varget, and WSR primers.

I use to use the same data for a regular 62 grain bullet myself and usually used a powder charge in the middle of the specs they gave in the manuals.Mainly plinking loads for me.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure if the extra length because of the steel penetrator made a difference.

Easy. Just get some M855, shoot it in your gun over a chrono. Then make your handloads shoot with the same velocity using the an appropriate powder.

If you want to make it easier/cheaper, get some WC844 or WC846 from any of the surplus component vendors.

I wish I could find a vendor that has this powder for a decent price... The price of surplus powder is a joke.

Pat's Reloading has it for $100 per 8lb, or $95 if buying 4x8 or 6x8 with hazmat discount.

Just buy four 8-lb jugs and you're good to go.

That would only work until she sees your credit card/bank account statement for the month...
