Lee dies rusting

My 45 dies are developing some rust. There is a light, very light, coating of rust on them. biggest offenders are the decapping die and the auto disk riser. all this rust on my lee dies and my rcbs dies are just fine. short of throwing them in my tumbler, anything i can do to remove and inhibit this rust?

brass brush to remove. then coat with hornady one shot dry lube. finally use a descendant in the cases wile they are being stored.

I use a bronze or brass brush to remove the light rust. Afterwards I use a Qtip to apply WD40 to the outside of the die. At least once a year, I take apart my dies and do a good cleaning and rust inhibiting. You can use WD40 inside the dies granted you are not going to use it right away and thy are going to sit there for a good time. I use brake cleaner to degrease the inside of the dies.

I wipe down the outside with machine oil after use.
I have not been reloading long so the only thing I've done with the inside and out before using was to blast with carb cleaner.
WD40 is not a rust inhibitor.
WD= Water Displacment..But they have some new stuff that I have not checked out.

I hate WD 40. it seems to do nothing well but marketing.

hit it with any mild abrasive handy a scotch brite or steel wool and light oil or just a thin coat of gun oil or motor oil or cooking oil LOL

a little rust never hurt anything I'd just lube it

as of right now, i'm storing them on the turret mounted on the press. i probably should get a round die box with some desiccant in there...

Where is your press located at??

Is it near outside wall/moisture? Any pool chemicals/supplies near by?

To remove the rust on things,I soak with Kano Kroil,wipe or scour with the green scotchbrite.Repeat if necessary.You can leave the Kano on them for storage,and as someone mentioned,use brake cleaner before putting them in service.The Hornady One Shot is great for storage as well as using it all the time.Good luck

press is in the garage... which is detached. not close to outside, but 15 ft from a door.

I grab a little naval jelly and lightly brush on with one of my wifes make up brushes. Wipe off. Rust gone.

Would using something like CLP (or well... anything with Teflon that coats, and leaves protective layer once it dries) be a good option after removing the rust?

Yes...

"Tri Flow" is another good option. Amazon has it...

It's really not that big of a deal, though.
