Scrap iron and welding for a press stand - ??

Would like to mount an AP press to a floor standing mount/stand. No one sells one, so the next best path is building one.

Looking to acquire some scrap iron (1/4" plates, one 5"x8", one 18"x24" and a 4"x4"x39" steel column) and then find someone to weld the pieces in the Tri Valley/east bay area of northern CA. Anyone have any ideas or leads on where to find scrap iron and someone who can do the welds? Doing a web or CL search isn't helping much.

Use a tire rim for the base and bed frames for the frame.



Large truck disc brakes work too.
