Trying Reloading in San Jose area?

I'm seriously considering getting a reloading rig. Before I go and drop a few hundred dollars on equipment, would really like to try the practice? I've never reloaded before, and short of youtube never seen anyone reload.

Is there anywhere in the San Jose area I could try reloading a couple dozen rounds just to see if I enjoy the process?

If you want to drive to Bay Point (Contra Costa Co) I will can supervise you to reload for me!

gunboat - I'm interested in 9x19mm or 45ACP although for these purposes I don't think it really matters. I'm more concerned with the mechanics of it and how much time/space commitment. I live in a 1000 ft^2 condo with a wife and a baby, space is at a premium

Pistol ammo are the easiest to reload ... I am in the area. Once I moved this weekend, you are welcome to come take some practice.

OK -- I can talk you through tooling for 45acp/ar using single stage, turret, lee hand press and lyman tong tool -- also manuals, trimmers, case gauges and the like -
prefer daylight hours -- old eyes --

ill offer up too, I've had a couple calgunners come through my shop near reeds. Just picked up a lee hand press too which is exactly what you might want if you want minimal space. Everything fits in a shoebox.

Just bring some dies (I don't load 45 acp) and some brass and you can prep up your stuff here. I always have a project going on in the shop to work on while you're here.

Also, if you can chat with gunboat, do so. He's the man, and has forgotten more about casting and reloading than I'll ever learn. By the way George, you don't happen to have a single cavity mold for 35 whelen or 35 rem or the like? Something really heavy, 200+ grains in .358-360? I've been looking, they are hard to find!

Hey W-R -- sorry no 35 stuff -- Had a garand for a short time many moons ago in 35 whalen but did not cast for it --or keep it long for that matter --

... part of me is scared... I have a feeling in a year I'll have a Dillon 1050 setup in the garage. Things kinda tend to escalate with me one I get into it
