    Ammo Collecting (Updated 12/30/13)

I'm getting into ammo collecting, and this is what I've been able to scrounge from around my house and the range.

I'm looking for suggestions on where to go next, and I'd be willing to pay for individual live rounds, but donations are always greatly appreciated.

    My current collection consists of:
    .22 LR shot
    .22 WMR
    .25 ACP
    .38 S&W
    9mm Luger
    .44 Mag
5.56x45 NATO M855 (looking for other 5.56 loads as well)
    .30-30
    .270 Win
    .410
    20 Ga
    12 Ga

Easy ones I'm looking to add:
    .380 ACP
    9x18 Makarov
    .357 Mag
    .40 S&W
    10mm Auto
    .45 ACP
    .30 Carbine
    5.45x39
    7.62x39
    .308 Win AND 7.62x51 NATO
    7.62x54R

      PM sent
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Gun shows are a great way to find interesting ammo. Also online auction sites such as gunbroker.com often have individual rounds for sale. I had a really good collection of several hundred rounds that I gave my son just a while back. It's great fun and a very good way to learn about firearms through history.

The johnson spitfire is an interesting cartridge -- the 30 carbine necked to 22cal --
Johnson sold M1 carbines converted to 5.7 johnson for a few years in the late 60's -- It did not really catch on, not too much better than the hornet and not as good as the 222rem - and the M1 carbine platform is not really a varmit rifle.

I'd be happy to send you a .44 special, if you'd like.
